Legend and myth are very much present today at Glastonbury.
The Abbey grounds are populated with living history presenters in period costume.
The fabled final resting place of King Arthur and Guinevere at Glastonbury cannot be scientifically validated at present. However, it is always appropriate to honor a good man, even if he might exist only as a legend.
It is an atmospheric place, Arthurian connections mixed with the very real destruction visited by Henry VIII. One can’t help but wish it was possible to see the intact structures.
The herb garden provides a pleasant retreat, and a view of the unique Abbot’s Kitchen.
It is difficult to shake off the spell of Glastonbury, but our next destination beckons, and we must go.
